Coconut Oil Popcorn Recipe ~ Ingredients:

Coconut Oil Popcorn Recipe ~ How to:

  • Scoop around 1.5-2 tbsp of USDA certified organic coconut oil into a large pan. {Enough to cover the bottom of the pan when liquefied}.
  • Turn heat to medium / high.
  •  Put one kernel of popcorn in the pan and cover with lid.
  • When the single kernel pops the oil is hot enough to make popcorn.
  • Cover the bottom of the pan with a single layer of popcorn kernels (1.5 cups approx) and cover with lid. If your saucepan lid does not have an exhaust hole, tilt the lid a little.
  • As the popcorn kernels pop, use a towel or kitchen gloves to periodically pick the pan up and shake it in a circular motion before returning it to the stove. {1-2 times per batch for example – to make sure bottom layer doesn’t burn}.
  • When the popping slows down to 2 seconds between pops, remove the pan from the stove.
  • Remove lid carefully and pour popcorn into sharing bowl.
  • Sprinkle with salt and enjoy!

TRY: -replacing the sea salt with garlic salt & a little cayenne pepper for an extra zingy kick! -drizzling some coconut oil over the cooked popcorn in the bowl for added richness!
