PowerHouse Smoothie – by Organic Fiji
- 1 tbsp (or more) of Organic Fiji’s coconut oil
- 1 banana – peeled
- 1 avocado – peeled/pitted
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- 1 tbsp of peanut butter
- 1 tbsp of milled flax seeds
- a drop or two of vanilla extract
- a generous shake of cinnamon
- a small shake of nutmeg
- a small shake of ginger
- 1 cup of almond milk / or water
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt
- honey to taste
- ice cubes
- (If you prefer your smoothie to be a thinner consistency, add some almond milk / water).
Blend in a blender and serve in an iced glass accompanied by a slice of strawberry on the side.

The avocado on the ingredients list is said to be packed with dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, anti
oxidants and potassium. It can also provide a good source of mono-unsaturated fatty acids like oleic and palmitoleic acids as well as omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid linoleic acid. These are a very good source of soluble and insoluble dietary fiber. In addition it contains a high concentration of tannin (anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer and anti-oxidant properties).
Chia Seeds are the new super seed! They are said to be rich in omega 3 fatty acids, rich in fiber, packed full of antioxidants, contain high amounts of minerals, give you satiety (the full feeling), gluten free, keep insulin levels balanced and also lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels while increasing your ‘good’ cholesterol!
